Hi I have the below three syslog entries. As it can be seen the timestamp from LI (the first one), does not match the one from the syslog msg. (This also affects the sort order in Log Insight. Making it hard to troubleshoot) Why? I'm think it might be at the source the problem is, but I cannot see what you be wrong with this syslog msg. 2018-04-2510:28:46.315 2018-04-25 10:28:26 10.65.2.14 Passwordstate: Password ...more »
This is very basic, but if you need to troubleshoot PernixData (Still alive and kicking), you can use this content pack.
Hi Just had to had storage to a Log Insight cluster. I guess I have not do that in a while or atleast I do not remember how long it takes. As it seems like the node is just stuck doing nothing it would be nice if a progress bar/status could be shown on console when storage is expanded. A plus would be is an ETA could be shown as well 🙂 the only way to see that the VM/node is not dead is to look at disk usage - suboptimal ...more »
Had en issue - created an content pack 🙂
So here it is the HP OA content pack. All there is required is to set HP OA til send syslog to log insight.
It has three dashboards - Overview, changes and authentication.
Overview gives you quick insight to changes and problems in your environment.
Changes - is all about changes made by humans
Authentication - shows login attempts and failures

Please see the attached screendump. The trend chart is showing a downwards trend. When I hover the mouse over the icon it shows that there is not difference in past and present trend/the trend is so small that there is little to no difference in the trend.
This is misleading in the sense that the trend is almost non existing
I was hoping that I could use machine learning(event trends), to look at firewall logs. But as it sees the firewall logs as one event type, nothing useful can be gain from this.
Is there a way to influence or manipulate how the event type is found ?
Like I stated I want to use machine learning to see if "new" network patterns happens over time
Would be nice if you could add some extra fields to the vRops management pack so that it is easier to troubleshoot authentication problems.
See the attached vlcp file.
TP releases use to be on the front page, but seem to have gone, for good ?! So where have TP been moved to ? and where do I sign up ?
In order to help troubleshoot vRops issues - I have created a some widgets. Basicly three with some variances.
vRops Webrequest respones time
vRops Webrequest Respones Code
vRops Collector Issues
You can see some screenshot of it added to this discussion.
Also have a blog post coming which hasn't been released yet. Just a description of the value add.
