The Extracted Field in NCX CP Version 3.6 does not work with NSX 6.3.1. I have not tested other Versions of NSX or CP.
The Log Path in the default Config is empty. The Logs for the vAPI Endpoint can be found in : /var/log/vmware/vapi/endpoint/
most HA information's are at the moment focused on VM HA Events. But the FDM Log analysis fur all the hist states is also very interesting.
I created some examples for the enhancement.
A Install Parameter for the Agent to enable or disable SSL would be useful.
We are not able to save new or modified Agent groups after Update from 3.6 to 4.0.
After clicking save only circle on the button turns.
The vLI Appliance does not renew the ARPs for the VIPs. On boot and during each modification of the VIP new ARPs are generated. But when the ARP Entry on the Windows boxes is timed out the appliance doesn’t reply the new Requests.
In the list of Agents in Administration UI the SSL State of the Client would be useful .
When Multiple Virtual IP Addresses are configured the recently added VIP is the default for the agent default Configuration.
This should be selectable. Otherwise wrong tags are maybe added…
IIS CP xtracts wrong fields.
See attached Screenshot.
Prior vLI 3.6 I have not noticed this behavior
Sometimes Email Alerts should not only be on user level.
E.g. Alerts for a Ticket System
All Users with a specific security role should be able to create and modify them.
E.g. the Alers "*** CRITICAL *** vRA license has expired!" only searches for License Expired in all log swithout any containment of application or something like that.
This results a lot of false positive!
Use vCenter Tags, Folders, Resource Pools or Clusters as an enumeration of VMs. From these VMs should be the Name, IP, OS and finally the Agent state identified.
The result is a vCenter based Dynamic Agent Group for Configurations.
